DC 17 Powers Off When Pressing Brush Button

The power to my DC 17 cuts off anytime I press the brush button. The machine turns on and the brush works perfectly, but the brush button is acting as a power switch for some reason. I thought it may be switch related, so I replaced all three switches and still have the same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?
