Miele S5280 - Board repair?

I have a Miele S5280 which doesn't work. The reason why it doesn't work is that I tried fitting a motor from a Miele S571, which didn't work. However upon closer examination I discovered that while the S571 motor plugged straight in the pin-out on the contacts is different so it was never going to work. However fitting a known-good S5280 motor again (the one fitted before the swap) reveals that it has damaged something else in the hoover.

I happen to have a spare S5280 so I swapped the control board from that to the napoo machine and it worked a treat. Therefore the control board is kaputt.

The question is what could have failed on the board, given what I did to it? And is the board repairable or should it be replaced? Interestingly, the motor can be made to spin very briefly with the duff board if you toggle the power switch - here's a video.

To me this almost looks like a poor connection in the power switch but a multimeter suggests that this isn't the case.

The board itself looks fine; there's no burn marks or broken tracks. A very primative comparison with the known-good board using a multimeter doesn't throw up any obvious things to look at. Soldering in a new 220microF capacitor (the biggest blue one) doesn't solve the problem.

I'd be quite happy to hard-wire the motor to the switch and do without the speed control, as has been suggested by beko1987 on this thread here: https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php?topic=2912.0 . Examination of the board suggests that the motor connections are as follows: Blue = live, Back = neutral, Brown = control wire. However when the blue and black are connected to mains the motor doesn't run at all.

So, is there anything else I can do to make the motor work without the speed control? And/or does anyone have any suggestion about how to troubleshoot the control board? If I can't make either of these options work then I'll have to buy a new board, which I'd rather not do if I can avoid it.

Might be simpler to buy a used PCB, or find a scrapper that uses the same board.
New Miele parts are absurdly pricey, even if you can find someone who will sell them to you, as the spares supply is now locked down so tight.
Repairing a board at component level requires a degree of knowledge and skill that most of us do not have, unless it's just something like resoldering a dry joint.

The only person I know that would be able to fix that board is Ryevac. But it may not be economically viable.

Miele are notorious in that you have to swap like with like. And as Macman said, parts are very expensive. Used spares are the way to go with those.
