VAX 2000 MOTOR

My old Vax 2000 motor has died , I have just bought a replacement motor MTR145 , however the 2 connectors from my power cord (look like a garden forks) do not fit snuggly into the 2 connections on my new motor . Do they need to be cut off and replaced with ones from the link below so that they fit nicely into the new motors connections ?  or is that not needed ??  do i need the 12A 16A 19A ones etc

also the green earth wire , normally is earthed / screwed into the side of my old motor held in place with a screw , however it does not screw into the hole of the new motor (please see 2nd last photo) , where can it be earthed ?

Why not just use connector blocks? I'd suggest they are more secure than crimped terminals.

As long as you join the wires safely, it really doesn't matter how you join them.

to be honest i just dont have enough knowledge of what to do ,  but im assuming you mean cutting the fork connectors off each wire and putting the 2 wires into one side of the connector block . Then cutting off the 2 female connectors from the new motor and putting those 2 wires into the other side of the connector block ?

where does the earth wire go ? can it be screwed down , where the red circle is in the second photo ?
