Sebo K3 telescopic wand not locking

Hi everyone,
Bought a 2005 Sebo K3 Premium from Facebook today
Was all going smoothly until I wasn't able to push it along the carpet at all
The telescopic wand just collapses straight down instead of locking into place.
I've tried to fix this with zero success
I don't really want to buy another wand as their expensive
Any help is much appreciated

Saw this on facebook, sounds very annoying! I'd set up ebay watches for used wands, and as an intrim measure could you put a tight wrap of electrical tape just above where you want the wand set to, then ram it mildly down to wedge it together?

Was extremely infuriating indeed haha ive duct taped it for the minute just to give it a go and see how the vacuum is lol
Managed to order just the wand button part with the springs and locking pin (6421DG)
