Hi everyone,
This is my first post.
I have a 1997 SEBO Automatic X1. The rear wheel needs replacing and also the foot pedal (originally grey but now I see the replacement is orange) had broken off.
I have what are probably very basic questions but I cannot find any post or anything online showing how to replace a missing foot pedal or indeed how to replace a rear wheel which is worn. I can see that these parts are available to purchase individually but unsure how to go about the DIY replacement.

My questions:
1. Does the replacement foot pedal just clip on? or do I need to dismantle the axle (removing the wheel and slip on the new foot pedal)
2. Also how do you get the rear wheel off to put on a new one.
3. Do I need to replace the entire axle with both wheels and foot pedal.

And most importantly - is it a job I can carry out myself.

Many thanks

Yes, the foot pedal just clips on. You might scratch your head to see how at first, but look at a few photos on here.

As for the wheels, take the full axle off, grab the wheel at the edges, outer side up, knock it (the other wheel/axle) hard on a table so the spindle pops through the centre cap and the wheel slides down the axle, manipulate the clip off to remove the wheel. The new one just pushes on and secures itself as it comes complete.

Thank you for your reply.
Looking at the video on here how to remove the axle and rear wheels - it suggests don't take off the wheel caps as it is so easy to break the clips etc.
Would it be easier and recommended to just unscrew the three screws holding the axel in place and replace the entire rear wheel axel assembly? I need to replace one wheel (possibly both wheels) and a foot pedal anyway.
What do you think?

Replacement wheels come with cap and clip, they just push on. So it doesn't matter if you break the old one. But there's no need to do anything other than I said, a few screws to remove the axle and the wheel/s pop off as described.

Good to see an X1 going strong, my personal favourite model!
Replacement pedal is exactly the same as the original apart from colour. Will just clip straight on.
As for the wheels I'm not 100% sure but take the axel off and you'll probably find they unscrew or just pull straight off.
All spares can be bought on the Manchester vacs website or ebay etc for fairly cheap.
Lastly, as long as your confident I'm more than sure you'll be able to do the repair yourself! Some parts are quite fiddly I've found during my experience of working with Sebo vacuums.
