Weak suction at the cleaner.
« on: June 06, 2024, 03:08:39 pm »
My DC04 has excellent suction at the wand,  but the suction when reclined is weak. Do you know what the issue is?  I've checked all the filters, checked the seal and checked to see if there's any blockage.

How are you deciding it has weak suction when reclined?

When reclining it, it  skims the carpet and doesn't seem to pick up that much.

Is this a clutched or non-clutched machine?

Non clutched. Silver and lime.

It will be the cleanerhead not making contact with the floor. Recline it and look at it from the side, the back will be lifted up and not flat to the floor. To cure it, twist the hose until it makes contact correctly. It's common when you have had it apart. More common if the hose is a copy one as they are too stiff.

Still the same. I might use it for parts then.

I heard that the valve carriage is one of the reasons why you have less suction at the base.
