DC40 Brush constantly on after yoke cable replacement

Hello,
My first post and I would be very grateful if someone is able to advise as I am stuck. Initial fault:
1) DC40 had an intermittent brush motor whilst vacuuming. Disassembly showed that there was wear to the yoke cable. The white wire was split.
2) I replaced the entire yoke cable with that from a matching DC40 I have for parts.
3) I reassembled the vacuum. Powered on and the brush is now spinning. (Great I thought!)
4) However, now the brush does not turn off when in the upright position. Nor does it turn off if I press the grey button to activate/deactivate the brush.
5) I disassembled the vacuum again to make sure that all wires were connected correctly to the PCB where the yoke cable connected in case I accidentally disconnected a wire. These all look fine. I reassembled and the fault remains.[/li]
Does anyone have any suggestions on what the fault could be and how to resolve it? Prior to the yoke cable replacement, the brush would activate/deactivate normally with the button or in the upright position.
Best regards,
John

Behind the recliner swivel mechanism is a micro switch that turns the head on and off. That will be misaligned or the actuator left off or similar. The problem will be to do with that microswitch anyway.

Thanks for the reply and the tip. In the end it wasn't the micro switch, the fault was replicated when replaced. Instead, I replaced the printed circuit board it connects to and the fault was resolved. Thanks for the help though.
