DC11 Bleed Valve
« on: July 03, 2024, 05:02:27 pm »
Hi everyone... I recently restored my DC11...
I blocked the suction for a few seconds by hand to check the bleed valve working good... but nothing moves...
Does anyone know how it works?
Thanks for your reply

I already seen this topic, it's thanks to this that I achieved to reassembly the cyclone of my DC11 and found your forum
Many thanks to the poster Beko1987

But no real explanation on how the bleed valve works (opening and closing conditions and states)

The bleed valve looks like to this

Its just a spring loaded piston. When a blockage anywhere occurs i.e. puttig your hand over this creates a vacuum that pressure over comes the springs pressure.

Theres no way it can fail so if it's not functioning it means your not building adequate vacuum to overcome the spring so you have a leak somewhere on the machine.
