Automatic X4 1100W Bag full Red light.
« on: August 01, 2024, 02:35:36 pm »
Our X4 has just started with a red light bag full issue.  There are no blockages, the suction is strong when your hand is placed over the hose, the bag housing etc.  Inspection shows no blockage in the ductwork through the appliance.  After a few seconds the protection device switches off the motor.

We have 3 of these in the family, and this is the first time in 20 or so years this has happened. Usually pretty robust, the worst that's happened is brush change in the motor.

It is a relatively new model, soft start, 1100W model and is fitted with the control board part number, PCB NPPSTXSNM-3, which I understand can be reset rather than the earlier models which can be adjusted, and from our experience would appear to suggest the earlier model design is more robust.

Browsing the PCB's in the online catalogue, I think there is a suggestion that if you retrofit an old power board you can reuse the older type PCB with the adjustment capability and at a good cost saving.?

Is it possible to change both boards on the later soft start model?

Many thanks

As long as it isn't a model with a Boost button, you can swap both PCBs for >these two<.

Alternatively, you can mail us your board with a >service slip<, and we can reset it and send it back, and that costs £30.

Thanks for the advice....

I've fitted the pair of boards, main control board and power supply board, the vacuum functions correctly with no red light showing.  I ordered them from you on Friday and they arrived Saturday lunchtime by Royal Mail, really quick delivery (thanks).

If others read this and go down this route, just be aware that the motor power supply connection is in a slightly different position and may not just simply plug in with the available length outside of the motor casing.  I had to remove the motor cover (4 screws) and reposition the wires inside the casing to make the connection.  (In my case there was a loop of wire inside the motor casing which needed repositioning to make the external length sufficient)

Thanks again for the response and prompt supply of spares.

Hi.

I am having the same problem as Geof with my X4 Automatic Pet Eco 1100W vacuum cleaner.  It has been working well for at least 9 years but the bag full light and cut out keep happening.  All the pipes etc are clear.  I am thinking that this might be an issue with the sensor which might need to be reset/replaced.

I have taken the top off and this vac has the NPPSTXSNM-3 PCB.  I see that you can supply a replacement part, new or refurbished (although you are not listing any refurbished in stock).  I think you also offer a re-set service.

Is it likely that the PCB is the problem?

Do you offer a re-set service and if so how long does the reset last?

Thanks

Richard

Same reply as above here, yes. A bag full light with no blockages will be the main PCB. The reset should last, the factory setting lasted nine years.  ;)

Feel free to send it in.
