DC25 Soleplate

Before I go ahead and buy any (wrong) parts I’m hoping someone can help confirm my suspicions.

I’m working on a DC25 and the brushbar doesn’t spin but the motor works fine.

Comparing my soleplate to the enlarged photo on http://www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=1737259&query=Dyson%20DC25%3a%20SOLEPLATE (sorry it’s another parts site but was the best photo I could find!) the bit that locates inside the brushbar on mine doesn’t look as long as the one in the photo.

I’m thinking there’s a bit on the opposite side of the cog missing that fits inside the brushbar. Does something screw into the almost triangular lug as I can see a hole there?

I think that cog is supposed to have three fins on it and yours has worn to a triangular shape. Look at the screenshot from the enlarged photo from your link.

Hey, I never knew that soleplate was available on its own - I just looked them up and we can beat Currys on those.

That's useful, thanks for that!  Bit of a pain but I guess it's better than the motor going kaput.

What price do you guys do the soleplate for? The brushbar is also looking a bit knackered and I'm not sure if it's worth replacing the end cap while I'm at it. Can you also give me a price for all 3 if you stock them please?

I'm a bit concerned how much it's going to cost so I've also been looking on ebay for spares or repair heads, where the motors gone but the rest is usable as parts.

Yours has a piece missing from the brush roll drive. It is a three finned part held in by a central screw. You don't need a sole plate in that circumstance. We'll dig you a used one out as that isnt available on its own new but we will have some. You'll get a PM.
