DYSON DC07 - REQUIRES FORCE TO RECLINE BOTTOM MECHANISM
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:17:00 pm »
I have a Grey/Yellow DC07 non-clutch model. All works fine except for recently the simple act of lowering the bottom part has become difficult.

The bottom part can be lowered but requires force and makes a cracking sound before becoming active to use the machine.

I will not be using this otherwise I guess it will eventually break something and the problem will be a bigger one.

Any ideas guys?????

Appreciate your help in advance.

Sounds like you have a problem with your carriage mechanism. Take out the valve cover at the left side of the machine with the two buttons and examine that mechanism there.

Found the problem, it was the mechanism on the side (left side, looking onto the dyson). It's the mechanism that holds the top part of the machine to the bottom and you can get to this by removing the pipe. This piece was cracked and required a replacement.

All sorted now and working smooth again.

Thank you for your help
