Newbie saying hello
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:04:07 pm »
Hello all

I've just joined the forum  :tiphat:

I've recently developed an interest in vacuum cleaners & have acquired a few (Numatics & Miele currently). However i've now become interested in Dysons hence me being here  ;D. I haven't actually got one yet but I bought the DC07 workshop manual from Manchester vacs on ebay the other day for something to study & its certainly whetted my appetite !
Not quite sure yet which model to go for yet, I like the look of the 01's, 03's & 04's at the moment.
 ;)

Good to have you here.  :tiphat:

DC01's are getting a bit thin on the ground now in any kind of decent condition. De Stijl ones especially.

DC03's are not terribly hot on the suction as they have a small motor; a funky looking item though.

DC04's are still one of our best sellers.  :icon_nod:

Hi

Yes i'm also beginning to think that an '04 might be the way forward.

I have the unofficial workshop manual you sell for the DC07 (I bought it to get a feel for how Dyson's fit together & it's excellent) is there likely to be one for the DC04 too?

Also, I know Dyson's are quite noisy, how does a DC04 rate noise wise compared to the DC07?

Many thanks  :tiphat:

Most unlikely as most of it is >>here<<. And what isn't there is here.

Dyson will likely discontinue support for the DC03 and DC04 next as they did with the DC01 and DC02 recently. That will have an effect on the after-market too.

I hear the next manual on the cards will be for the DC14. You can register interest >>here<< already.

how does a DC04 rate noise wise compared to the DC07?

They have the same motor and pretty much bottom end mechanicals; so pretty similar.
