Adapting a Dyson from US to UK
« on: March 09, 2012, 01:19:50 pm »
Hello everyone I am new to this site so please bear with me until I get used to things.

I am currently not a Dyson owner but would really like to get my hands on these machines. However, the problem I have now is that I relocated to the US for only 2 years, and would not like to buy a vacuum to have to resell it and buy another in the UK.

I gather that the vacuum will not work in both countries and therefore a refit of some items might be necessary.

Could you suggest which models are the easiest/cheaper to undergo a refit. onwhen I come back to the UK?

DC07 or DC14 if you can still buy on in the US. You need only change the motor and rubbers.

Avoid the DC17 as parts are hard to come by in the UK.
