Need DC17 Wiring Diagram

I'm trying to replace the main motor in the DC17 but I cannot remember where the wires are supposed to go. I thought I had it right, but the outlet sparked and lights dimmed when I tried to plug it in so I know I screwed something up. Can anybody tell me where the three wires should go on the motor? Thanks in advance!!!!

What colours are your wires from the motor and the connecting ones from the switch? How have you wired it currently?
Being a DC17 model machine, this is US wiring, yes?
