Dyson Red extension not seeding

I have a DC 25 and the red cap/extension will not stay seeded, thus causing suction problems.  The picture below shows a part that we found and after looking through diagrams, I cannot find the part.  If anyone can help with a diagram number and where this should go back, it would be greatly appreciated.
