hi everybody nick here from birmingham uk , can anyone help me with my 2nd hand dc14 animal i/ve just got ! it was working really well till i took off the sole plate to give it a clean and now it still suck/s up well but not has good as b4 ! and yes i/ve put it back on right only thing i can think of is there was one rubber seal off the sole plate that i had to bin as it was all broke up ! i dont think its that is it ? thanx nick im new on here

Is the brush roll turning when the machine is reclined?

yes the brush roll is working fine... like i said b4 its sucking up really well but just not lifting the carpet like it used to !

Removing the seal from the soleplate will lessen the suction a little bit. That's what we do to machines that suck too hard after reconditioning.

I am guessing the soleplate is fitted back correctly at the front and you checked the filters already?

yes filters are nice and clean and soleplate is fitted back correctly. do you sell the seal on its own ? cant think of anything else it could be !

Its not something that is generally sold on its own. If you really think it is that, just put a thin bead of silicon where it was, and let it go off before testing it.

Although, I have never needed to fit one to improve suction. On some machines they may be missing but it makes only a very small - if noticeable - difference.

Seldom will a clutched machine lift carpet anyway (assuming it is clutched).

Have you checked the bottom hose?
