« on: December 08, 2010, 12:16:05 am »
There is a new tool out that they say grooms dogs?

Here is the publicity shot.................

It costs a whapping forty quid! Theres a video here: http://www.dyson.co.uk/vacuums/groom/

Anyone know if it is any good or is it just another wee daft gimmick?

They claim it is not suitable for the DC01.

I can't see why as they take the same diameter tools as many later models.  :reading:

Sorry if this is the wrong forum....

Has anyone used the http://www.dyson.com/vacuums/groom/?

Was just getting around to registering my Dyson on the website, and saw a link to it. If you haven't heard of it, check out the video, it looks really cool. My German Shepard sheds quite a bit, and this looks amazing.

Anyone actually tried it?

It was the forty quid price tag that put me off. That's why I haven't used one yet.   :o

MY Question is this , right now I have almost every differant model dyson  in my work shop or on the show room floor ,there hoses are way to short
I have 11 cats &  3 dogs ( we also have 10 bunnys and 2 hamsters)
If i switch on any vacuum near the cats or dogs they are gone !!, left the building no were to be seen.

so how do you get the animal to sit still while you vacuum them

For £40.00 I hope it comes with a 10m hose aswell then it might work

Some guy asked us for an extra long hose recently actually (that nobody we can find makes). It was for something pet related but he didn't go into detail. I bet that was why!

There is a business idea for you manufacture a extra long hose for dyson vacuums
A £ 70.00 upright Electrolux comes with one as standard on all stair cleaning models so why don't dyson make one.

We make them  for dyson machines here :-X

Found out today that certain of the dyson car cleaning kits come with a extra hose , unfortunetly its the standard spring loaded one so you will still have to work hard when cleaning the car

I've just bought one of these....£33 inc P+P from eBay.  It's brilliant!!  I have 4 dogs including 2 GSDs; one thick medium coated, one finer long coated.  All my dogs are used to the Dyson anyway but the slight problem for me was getting them used to the 'air flow' through this tool.  However, once over this, they absolutely love it!!  It works just as it says.  You brush in the direction of the hair growth and after a few strokes let go of the bar and the hair gets sucked up   8)  I have a broken coated JRT whose coat is far too short and fine to use this but he queues up for it....not wanting to miss out....typical terrier   :))  I use it extremely gently on him and it almost sends him to sleep   :))  If your dogs are scared of the Dyson, you'd have to get over that one before you even think about buying this tool otherwise they'll be frightened to death   :underchair:
