DC04 cutting out briefly
« on: July 09, 2012, 05:20:50 pm »
Hi,

While using my DC04 the power will cut out briefly and then pick up again, usually before the motor has slowed down completely.

I wonder if the movement of the cable is causing it, but it doesn't behave consistently enough to work out if the problem is at the switch end or the plug end. But I checked the plug (not an original moulded-on one) and the connections are fine there.

Does this sound like I need a new switch, or cable, or maybe just to refit the cable to the switch?

Whatever it is I guess I need one of those nifty tools!

Sounds like a cable to me. There can be multiple internal breaks, and as you have changed the plug already, the cable sounds the likely culprit.
