Hi, my first post is the dreaded motor change.
I have changed our previous DC07's motor but never one of these...I have removed the brush bar without losing a finger and now find myself confronted with the clutch housing and a whole host of other screws.
My question...is there a step-by-step guide for the DC27 or is it just a case of trial and error.
Just for the record, I have noticed what caused the burn out...the nut that holds the fan onto the motor has dropped off, I can see it through the small opening, so I guess the motor overheated and popped.

Hi Dunk,

There is no generally available guide to the DC27 I'm afraid.

And yes, they are way harder to do than the average upright Dyson. I guess its trial and error time.

If you have any specific questions, or something you get stuck with while tackling it, we will do our best to help, but producing a 'how to' guide for these would be rather labour intensive - and there are not so many DC27's about.

Oh well, my pension is due next week so I will be ordering one of the motors from this site and now my shed has been rebuilt I will photo up how I do it and upload the details onto this site for future reference..my camera is a pretty good one so it will show in particular detail the damage I will be doing to my fingers...

I wont start until I have the new motor in my bandaged hands because knowing me I'll forget how to put it back together.
