DC07 Will Not Drop To The Floor - Have To Use My Foot?

i installed new belt,clutch assy, new pickup hose at brush assy,my problem now is the brush assy will not drop to floor it drops real slow,or i keep having to push the brush assy down with my foot.what is wrong i put a new hose on it it was suppose to be shorter.
any help i would  appreciate,   Rick in usa--pennsylvania

If by brush ass you mean just the swivel brush mount and not the cleaner head then
I had this same problem with a USA model dc14 brought to my shop.
It turns out to be the hose as this acts as a spring to allow the brush assembely to sit flush to the carpet.
Just turn the hose a few degrees .

Just check that the hose is the correct lenth some after market ones are shorter or longer, compair it to your old one if longer cut it.

I had a similar problem, but then the whole DC07 went kerplut and i got a DC23 instead
