DC07 Origin - Step by step re-assembly
« on: November 11, 2014, 12:53:47 am »
I wondered how many unique steps are involved with re-assembling a DC07 origin, so took a picture per step!

Not 100% complete in this post, will finish it off tomorrow, but for now...

(The brushroll is scrap, but for the purpose of this thread I've fitted it for now, will find a spare better one!)

New belt

Thats it for now!

Are those post motor filter pads any good? How often would they need changing? I've only been putting hepa filters in when I've been putting Dysons back together... Is it personal preference or should I be using these with some models?

Ive had no issue with them, and must have used them on 30+ machines now. They should be changed every year anyway, as they go black with carbon dust from the motor. Not had any complaints from anyone!

I replace like for like. If the machine originally had a HEPA, I put a HEPA back in. Pad when born? Pad now!

Cool, I'll get some in then. Does it affect your sale price with people wanting hepa filters?

They are cheaper, interchangeable, and do a similar job. We find 1/100 will express a preference.

I don't think anyone's ever cared tbh! If its got a HEPA I put it in the advert, if not I just put 'new filters'

It is one of the reasons I put HEPA filters in HEPA machines though, just in case someone looks and complains.

If anyone asked I'd put a different filter in. I had someone with a dog allergy, and asked if the machine I was selling had been used for pets. I answered I don't know, but due to my washing process shouldn't be contaminated now, and I put a brand new pre motor filter in instead of the usual spotless but washed filter. About as close as I've got!

I'd forgotten I hadn't finished this, so sorry  :underchair:

I found a good, clean hose

Found a much better brushroll from a scrapper DC04i in the loft
