How do you disassemble DC41 cyclone assembly?
« on: January 25, 2013, 02:36:49 am »
Hello all.  Like the title says, how do you pull apart the cyclone bin?  I want to give it a good thorough wash.

If you remove the filter here............

I think there are some T15 Torx screws in there. Start with those. I recall they come apart like that.

I have only done one or two up to now, and don't have one handy to look at.

I did that but I didn't see any screws what so ever.  There are however some tabs on the side that look like they may hold the whole thing together, but I was worried they may break off if I try and pry them off without appropriate tools.
Regardless, I went ahead and washed the bin as is.  I just hosed down the exterior, the interior, and each of the 12 cyclones through the access on top.  Then I set the assembly in front of a forced air portable heater overnight.
Turned out great, the nasty smell is gone
