Thanks for the exploded diagram of the DC14. I picked one up at an auction that is missing what looks to be part #71 on the diagram. Does anyone have a part # and/or proper name for the part.

Thanks

Craig C.

That's the bin flap. The correct name is "bin base assembly" and the part number is DYS909001-01.

I see you are in the US. If you struggle getting one out there, we could send you one and it would cost about $25 with shipping, for a new one.

Hi how much for parts 62 and 55?

Give us a call as I don't think they are on the site. We'd also need a serial number to colour match.

'Colour Match'? It's a rubber seal and a screw, dont think they come in different colours!

62 appears to be a motor cover?

62 says it's the changeover valve seal

Aaah then yes! Colour is important! Unless you could paint. Dyson in that flip blue/purple Rover and MG used to use would be cool... :boggleeye:

I have replaced a motor on a DC14 and I thought I had enough info from Youtube to re-assemble it.
Unfortunately I have been left with 2 large black plastic circlips.
These appear to be item 14 on last Exploded Drawing 10.05.
Can anyone describe exactly where the 2 circlips should be fitted?
Approx size of each circlip is 30mm O/D x 25mm I/D x 5mm Wide

Their the pivot rings, and go around each stub that holds the brushroll housing on.

Shown here on a DC07, but the location is the same on a 14

Will be a large flat circlip at the front of each with the cleaner head fitted as so. You can see the ring too

You may be able to get them fitted without stripping the whole thing down again by carefully prising each side off in turn and locating the clip if your lucky.

Don't bother, after arguing with Dyson about this part on the phone 3 times I have decided to go smash my Dyson vacuum with a Sledge Hammer and to buy a real Vacuum instead. They have lost me as a customer forever over a 12 cent plastic part. By the way, here is Schematic that actually shows the part. It is the Cyclone Release Catch. I did find one local vendor that can get me the part, but I still think I would rather video tape myself destroying the vacuum.

(Attachment Link)
While this is necro-posting, I'll give it a try anyway. In the linked diagram, part 49, the "Cyclone release catch" on our DC14 no longer grips the canister correctly. Customer service thinks it's this catch that's at fault. OK, I have one on order. I looked at the enlarged photo, on the SearPartsDirect site, of the switch cover. I now am confident that "all" I need to do is pop the cover, pull the catch, put in the new catch, and jam the cover back on. Easy-peasy right? The devil is in the details, of course. What do I need to do to release what seem to be two locking catches on the switch cover?

For the record, neither Dyson or SearPartsDirect show the catch, but the customer service person was able to identify the part and even got the color right (purple, not red). I'll know in a week if my faith is well placed.
