Hey guys just a quick question, the self adjusting head does not seem to be adjusting correctly to my carpets height. It works how it should do but every so often I can't here the brush bar touching the carpet and it seems to just be skimming it, I have to physically put abit of pressure on the housing and it seems to level out to the correct position! Had it all in bits but it still seems to be doing it
Any suggestions would be very helpful :)
Oh it's a dc04 absolute purple lime which of course is a clutched model

YOU need to replace the internal hose, The one that you can see when you turn the machine upsidedown. Its spring loaded and after many years the spring looses its tension. When it does this it will not push the foot down into contact with the floor. Fit a new one and your problem should be solved
