DC25 head issue
« on: January 27, 2013, 05:51:41 pm »
Hi!  I have a DC25 which is a few years old and got this problem I'm hitting my head against.  The roller brush wont operate properly. It moves weakly when the motor is engaged but, you can stop it with your hand without any force.   Ive stripped the machine down and checked for obstructions first and suction is very strong at the head intake.  Pulled the head unit apart and the belt is as new and the motor spins the cog.  What I have noticed is the roller brush was difficult to remove from the head. I had to tap it out with a hammer and screwdriver. I put it all back together, hit the reset and still the same problem.  Help!  Many thanks in advance

Does the roller drive belt feel tight and have all its teeth?

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me.  Yes the belt is like new in condition with all its teeth and tight on the drive cog.

And the cog isn't chewed up?

I cant see why a brush might be hard to remove from the head.

Can you post a photo of the brush looking into where the cog goes?
