DC05 is baffling me
« on: February 01, 2013, 07:12:33 pm »
Hi I am new to this site how’s it going  :tiphat:
Sorry to be a pain on my first post but my background is a maintenance engineer I have my 17th edition and my part P I have all the gas qualifications but forced into finishing early with MS so I don’t consider myself as thick but this DC05 is baffling me  :'( I have striped it down because it was sparking from the Armature so checked it out and found the bushes worn down so replaced and cleaned up the Armature and reassembled and it is still sparking does this mean the condenser has gone as well any advice is well received
Regards John

These motors are generally one life. They don't usually clean up with too much success. Most people replace them when they go duff.

You cleaned up the armature and replaced the brushes I guess? What did you clean the armature with?

Emery paper tends to be too rough. You need a new motor.  :icon_nod:
