Hi - mine is the yellow and grey dco4 absolute and appears to have the exact same problem as has been identified by the other chap. I have checked out the small hose already and there is also no blockage in the pipe you suggest, so I can only think the brushes on the roller are worn or the roller stops spinning when under load i.e. on the carpet. Since changing the filters the suction is mega. You can feel the suction on the carpet now but it just won't pick up.

If it hurts, all is well. If the brush slows down or stops, we'll suspect the clutch. Fenwick: That pipe doesn't often split to be honest, but a used one is dirt cheap (they are so good we have never sold a new one). Pull it off, find the split and replace it if necessary.
