How to Checkout Using a Debit or Credit Card.
« on: May 11, 2013, 05:30:50 pm »
This is part of our tutorial on how to shop for spare parts online with us.

Here we are going to check out using a credit or debit card.

Having clicked the "Checkout with a Card" button, you will be taken to this screen:

You will see the delivery options circled. If your order qualifies for free delivery, you can select that there.

Fill in where arrowed your name, address, phone number, etc. Ignore "Company ID" if you are not a company, and "City" means your post town. Use the drop down menus to select country and region within that country.

When you have done that, look at the bottom of that page............

If your delivery address is the same as your billing address, leave that ticked. If you want an account for future shopping orders, check that box. If you don't, leave it blank.

Click to agree to the terms and conditions, and then click Continue.

You will now see an order summary:

Click "Proceed to Secure Payment".

You have now been transferred to our payment processors site to make payment.

Click the icon for the card you want to use.

You will then see this page:

Fill in your long card number - no spaces are necessary;
Use the menus to select the expiry date on your card;
If your card has an issue number, insert that. If it doesn't, leave that blank;
The "security code" is the last three numbers on the signature strip on the back of your card (on American Express cards, that number is on the front);
Check the email address is correct;
Check the box to agree to the terms;
Click "Make Payment"

What happens next can vary and is decided by your bank depending on their security methods.

Very often the transaction will complete in a further two or three clicks. Just follow the instructions on the page. You should then be returned to our site and told your order has been processed.

If you have shopped online before, you may be prompted for the password you set up last time.

If you have never used this card to shop online, your bank may insist you make an account with something like "Verified by Visa" and you may get a form asking date of birth and a few other details. If this happens, please understand this is not us asking this - its YOUR bank. Sometimes you can skip it, each bank has different rules.

Just follow the instructions on the page. You should then be returned to our site and told your order has been processed.

You will get an email from us confirming your order. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

On the offchance you cannot complete the transaction with a card using Nochex, you can try our other provider. Some people find that simpler.

Here is what to do.

Return to your shopping basket on our site.

Click the Paypal button here:

Then click here:

Now you will see a form like this below.

Select the card type using the drop down menu, fill in all the details as you did before, and you may have more success with this provider.  ;)

If you encounter any technical difficulty during these stages, it is probably because you are using an old version of Microsoft Internet Explorer that is no longer supported by some sites. We recommend that you instead use >>Google Chrome<< or >>Mozilla Firefox<< which in our opinion are far superior.

If you are not sure what browser you are using, you can check here: >>Check Your Browser Version<<.
