De Stijl
« on: May 14, 2013, 02:03:08 am »
I have decided that one can never have too many dysons! So I am on the hunt for a half decent destijl to recondition/restore to add to my collection. Wish me look dyson friends as we all know its difficult to find a DC01 without bits broken off it, the majority look like they have been thrown off a bridge these days, apart from my silver yellow of course! :)

We got a slight premium on the last few of those we had.

You are right that finding a decent one is not as easy as it was.

The problem won't necessarily be finding a De Stijl machine, more so any replacement parts in decent condition.

Good luck

Just a quick question for you guys at m vacs, if I told you the serial number is there anyway you could tell when my DC01 was built? Would be interesting to know if it was the first of the second phase of the dc01 (current logo/swivel sole plate), or the last lot that were made. It has had really light use as hardly a blemish on it. Also I remember having a dc01 absolute as a kid and can't remember it having a suction release valve that's activated when the wand is pushed in place. I can just remember when it was in the upright position with the wand in place it sounded like it was about to explode!! Was this fitted to later models or did they all have it fitted?

Cheers

Tom

P.s took that picture for you guys today as the rest haven't always been in the best light :)

All the DC01s have that mechanism.

You need someone with dealer access to look up the build date I think. One of the agents here will be able to do it I expect.

Nice machine BTW.

Didn't get the de Stijl, requested some more photos and they never got sent so I didn't bid. However I now have a cylinder. Sorry it's totally not dc01 related! :)

Just a warning...those DC11 cyclones are a ba :censored: to reassemble if you take them completely apart!
