Why in heavens name does Dyson put short cords on some of their machines? Can I take a long cord from my old DC07 and put it on the DC25? Or, the Good Lord willing, there is a longer cable available for the DC25.

As long as you can fashion the terminals as need be, and come to grips with the switch mechanism, there is no reason why you cant use a DC07 cable on a DC25.
