As some may have noticed, the site has had a few technical glitches the last couple of weeks.

These were caused by our host in the US, and they don't seem to be able to fix the problem on their servers in a timely manner.

Accordingly, we are preparing to swap hosting companies to one in the UK. Hopefully today or tomorrow. We are also upping our technical specs at the same time so the site should be much faster to use.

Downtime should be minimal, the swap shouldn't take more than an hour. The site will be in "maintenance mode" during that time.

If you see the "maintenance mode" on the forums for too long, try holding down the CTRL button on your keyboard, and whilst doing so press the F5 key, and hopefully that should reload the new server on your screen.

You may find the site erratic for a day or two afterwards depending where in the world you are located, as the servers across the word that deliver content sometimes take a day or two to catch up properly.

This is now scheduled for sometime on Thursday.

In keeping with our general ethos, we have - of course - bought British when thinking of hosting companies.

I'd like to give Adam (who is helping us) and the team at Vidahost in Maidenhead a small plug here.

We got fed up of dealing with overseas call centres and 'support' that speaks Indianglish. We want our site to work. And if it doesn't, we want to be able to pick the phone up and give someone some stick in choice Manchester English until it does. So Vidahost are they.
