Author Topic: DC41 ( DC41i ) Sticky rotation of non filter side of the ball (Read 9155 times)

Hi Guys , The rotation of the ball sides is on a central ball race , with a roller to support the bottom inside edge . Mine machines filter side ball spins like a dream , but its roller seems to be only supported at one end of the shaft , so i can't see how it is influencing operation at all . is the housing broken at one end of the supporting shaft . the non filter side is very grunger in its operation , the central bearing seems to be u/s , and the roller , whilst its shaft is supprted by the housing at both ends , has left a wear track on the inside of the ball .
i have bought a new shell assembly , to get a new central bearing , but am uneasy that it is as straitfoward as this . AND , Only 10 months old . Its been doing my wifes back in !! Any ideas ??

If its ten months old, it will still be under Dyson warranty surely?

Yep , I'm sure it is . Has a serial number not recognised in UK , so probably an import ( internet buy ) . I suspect that Dyson ( i am invited to call them ) will advise a service visit , How much ? -- £ 80 . £20 for the new bearing might solve the issue , --- where should i go ?? , and am i the only one to experience this issue ?

Out of curiosity, what is the first three digits of that serial number? Does it have a moulded UK plug on it?

We haven't had enough of these apart fully yet for me to talk about that problem with confidence, so hopefully someone will chime in who knows more about them.
