Title: Help - Suction issue with a DC19
Post by: chooke on March 03, 2022, 01:27:33 AM
Hi

My DC19 has recently developed an issue with the suction.  A few seconds after turning on, there is a pop from (I think) the bypass valve directing the suction away, like there is a blockage. I have replaced both filters, thoroughly cleaned the inside of hoses and attachments and the canister.

The bypass is only triggered when the canister is in place which makes me think that this is the source of the problem. However I can't see why the canister would cause the problem given it has been cleared.  The head of the canister is held together by tork screws but before attempting to pull it apart, just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and what, if anything, in the canister could be causing this?

Cheers

Just to add to this. I have dismantled the canister and there are no signs of any blockages. Nevertheless I have thoroughly cleaned and dried the components, reassembled it and the issue still exists.

And it does it if you disconnect the hose too?

Yes, disconnection of the hose was the first thing I did.
