Title: New member advice needed for DC04 please
Post by: SteveD on April 16, 2018, 03:58:12 pm
Hello all,

I just bought a replacement cyclone handle for my DC04 from Manchester vacs. I'm very pleased as it's an exact match for my purple absolute machine. I have looked at the DC04 stripdown but cant figure out how to remove the old handle from the cyclone where it pivots. It looks like two plastic rivets but don't want to snap anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

Steve

Why not just swap the full top? Look inside the top, there are several screws. Undo them and the cyclone cone twists off.

We supply them with the bit below as there are two variants. One does not fit the other despite looking very similar.

You need to ever so gently prise one side of the hinge pins out. Do the actual lid part. Open the filter cover/top, get a flatblade screwdriver in and VERY gently bend the tab outwards and itll pop off. Sort of the same to get it back on. Be careful though, the plastic can be very brittle
