Anyone have a scrap cyclone assembly ?
Need the bin catch lever and probably the spring.

Cancel that, found more problems with this machine.
Will let dyson sort it.

well i thought i would get them to sort the spine / shaft as it has started to crack both sides.
Also, beater bar black brush has worn out but that may be classed as fair wear and tear ? ??
bit of a story to this vac and it's ownership which i can't really say in public... :icon_nod:

I do hate those, they don't last at all! Avoid even cheap ones for now...

Very poor imo.
First one through my hands and same reaction from me - and i will be avoiding these in future.
This one is still under warranty, it has been registered but the guy no longer has the receipt - well, he has the receipt but
it has been filed with all his other post in the kitchen next to the toaster ! it is on thermal paper so is now blank white.
It is mine if i want it, for next to nothing - got a few customers waiting for ball machines but don't think i would move this on ? maybe car boot it as i want no comebacks.
Seriously thinking about pushing out a few dc24 machines instead of machines from the dc50 stable.
More robust, apart from the brush bar motor, but hey a guarantee of follow up work...

We sell DC24s over DC50s.
I usually eBay out DC40/41 and 50 if we get lumbered with any. I wont buy them in raw, I only get ones that come for free.

Yes i am swaying towards DC24 now i think, easy to service & repair. The bin size on the 50 looks similar to the 24 too.
Sold lots of 25's in the past but they are quite a lump.
spoke to dyson service yesterday and they will honour the warranty on the 50, needs new duct shaft, cyclone assy and head.
Told me the black brushes on beater wearing out is under warranty too, but they will fit a later erp head instead - not sure if they repace the pcb too ???
Better measure the volts out on the yoke now on this 50 just for the record.

I've only had 1 DC50, as shown on here years ago, but with a blown motor, torn hose, worn brushroll and damaged cable, I felt I would be laughed out of the room if I tried a warranty claim! Only paid a fiver, and it came with a tangle free tool that I kept so not all bad!
Don't mind 40/41's so much, have had a few through my hands now and am getting the nack of refurbishing them (bar the yolk loom, sodding thing). Avoid DC24's unless their free though, too much expense if the main motor, brushroll motor and PCB have gone! Don't like selling them either incase they go 5 minutes after the buyer uses it. Have 2 24's, a blue one which if you follow my youtube channel you will have seen, that's going to Amys aunt as she lives in a 1 bed flat so it's a bit ideal, and close enough that when it breaks it won't be an issue. Got another bin find 24 that I have not touched yet, so will see how that goes!
Infact with 24's, I turn them on infront of the owner if I get one in for a refurb, and check the sparking. Nearly buggared myself up before taking in a 'runs fine, just no suction' one and finding out the motor was nearly dead... Luckily she agreed to a new motor when I sent her a video, but that could so easily have gone the other way!

Am I the only one here who thinks the DC41s are awesome machines? Haha :))
I'd sell them as refurbished, cleaner head wheels and yolk assemblies don't go on these anymore with the Mk2s and their motors are reliable :)

Managed to get this sorted, dyson still honoured the warranty.
the fit a new duct, complete head assembly and cyclone top.
No surprise in me saying the machine has a new owner...
