Title: Dyson DC26 - speed regulation ?
Post by: 304bl on December 16, 2022, 10:20:10 am
Hi everyone, I'm planning to use my DC26 for a project and would need to regulate the speed of the motor, I found so AC voltage regulator on ebay (up to 4000W) and I was wondering if it would be ok or not ?

the idea would be to plug the DC26 directly to the speed regulator but I was wondering if the PCB can be damaged or not by the voltage being regulated ?

I'm not sure it would allow you to do that as the DC26 has a digital motor. It might not run on less power.

I doubt it would damage the PCB by putting fewer volts/amps through it. Putting more through it would surely kill it though, but that device looks unable to do that.

It is fitted with a digital motor like the airblades and hair dryers. Not a traditional motor with carbon brushes.
