Title: New brush bar
Post by: dragoncurt on January 14, 2017, 04:32:30 pm
I was just changing the brush bar to a new one and turned it on but the dc07 smelt like something was burning. So I checked the belt and then I touched the metal part which spins the brush bar and burnt my finger. Did I put the belt on wrong, I thought you just put it on both ends and works.

Thanks

Good evening Mr Dragon.

It goes without saying to make sure the brush spins as it should before you turn it on, did you check this?
It's obvious that something is rubbing, now you need to take it off again and reinstall it and make sure everything is lined up as it should be. Nothing should rub, obviously.

I also suggest running your burn under cold water as soon as you can, but I can't imagine you'd get a very sustainable burn from that.

Ahoy Cap'n!

I think you simply need to reinstall it and check it all and you'll be fine :)
