Hi
We purchased a Dyson V7 Motorhead handheld back in 2019, and due to it's light weight its replaced our DC25 upright as the main vacuum of choice for the memsahib, however, we had to replace the first battery under warranty and now the second one is dying rapidly, giving us barely a minute of suction if we are lucky.
Is a 2 year lifespan par for the course or are we just unlucky? Should we roll the dice again and purchase a new battery (~£65 from Dyson) or go for an unbranded one?
Any advice welcome, thanks

Personally I'd stick to genuine batteries. I've know the cheap ones to fail within months

Crikey, wow, thanks for the warning!
We had our original DC-01 for 18 years, but the brushbar motor on our DC-25 has failed after 9 and as I said the batteries on our V7 barely last 2 years, nothing seems to be built to last these days. :-(

For a V7, I'd go genuine. Most aftermarket ones are no good.
2 years is typical, if you get more consider it a bonus.
