How robust is a Sebo and do they fade like some Dysons?

I have been using a Dyson DC14 upright cleaner for a few years and it suddenly stopped working, I checked the original molded 13amp mains plug and it was fitted with a 5amp fuse and I replaced it with a new 5amp cartridge fuse. On switching on the DC14 it immediately blue the fuse again. So i have fitted a 13amp fuse to the mains wall plug and it now performs OK.
After searching online it seems that a 13amp fuse is the correct one but it had worked for a number of years with the 5amp fuse fitted without any problems ?

The first major breakdown is already a finish. You shouldn't hold on to an appliance that gives such serious failures because your further relationship will be based on senseless attempts to keep it alive. I like Bosch.

Our Beko is 9 years old and still going strong. On its second set of bushes but nothing else.

13 years is an excellent indicator for a washing machine. Many modern appliances live no more than three years.

Hi Dyson fans does any one know the correct size of fuse to fit the 13amp mains plugs fitted to the Dysons DC04, DC07, DC08 , DC14 ?
Hoping someone can help - grahamwin.

Hi there.
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on what/where this part has come from. (see attachment)
I believe it is off a DC40 which I am putting back together but cannot see where this part actually goes.
The writing on this includes the following:
"12-7321" "PP" "2C" & "Dyson"
