Title: DC14 Origin
Post by: absolutepurplelime on October 11, 2015, 10:47:14 pm
Finally got an Origin. Nice and clean one as well with working motor and full set of tools. Was sold as noisy as it had a hair grip wedged in the brushroll housing and a worn Qtex belt. Will strip it down tomorrow fit genuine belt clean filters and will be good to go. Will probably end up in my loft with my DC01 De Stijl and DC07 Clic. Also the end cap isn't mashed up like they normally are.

Is it just me or do these seem to clean better than a clutched machine?

The brushes are alot stiffer and the roll seems to spin a lot faster. And yes they do pull the pile up alot better. Same with non clutched dc04 amtek and dc07 origin etc.

I think they are the same, but the helix clutches brushbars have 2 rows of bristles and the non clutches ones have 3 rows so better grooming= better cleaning performance :) The sealed suction helps too, clutched ones have side edge cleaning and large debris channels etc which reduce power

Parwaz spent an hour or so on the dc14 origin this afternoon. Stripped it down cleaned it all out and fitted a genuine belt. Just about to do the cyclone but here are a few pics of the progress. Hope you like them. :)[attachimg=1][attachimg=2][attachimg=3][attachimg=4][attachimg=5]
