Title: DC14Animal sounds like a trumpet

 :'( hi all i have a dc14 animal and fitted with an after market hepa filter now when its on full suck it sounds like a loud trumpet
any body have any ideas or is it cos its not a genuine filter.........

Did you also put a seal on the hepa filter? You can usually buy a self-adhesive seal that sticks to the underneath of the filter.

The noise is definitely the HEPA filter? It doesn't do it when it is removed?

with the filter out it still makes the noise i recently changed the motor but the motor is from a DC07 it fits and it works but the casing of the motors are different the Dc14 motor had two ridges in motor casing and the DC07 had one.

Sounds like the motor rubber wasn't seated back properly. See if this topic (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,461.msg1184.html#msg1184) rings any bells.
