Title: Zorbster
Post by: Madrat on February 04, 2015, 01:41:47 pm
Managed to get hold of this today.  £10 and only 16 miles away.

Seller said there was no suction, but once I took the cyclone off it felt OK until the bottom filter popped off

WET!

A look at the top filter  :o

WET WET WET

A look at the bin and cyclone confirmed it, they are both well clogged and stink of wet dog  :sick0012:

 :angryman:

Despite that the motor ran sweet, didn't push it though just in case, Will let it dry out a bit then see what it's like on strip down.

Bit of a miss match and what's with all the knots?

What horrors lie beneath  :evilgrin0002:

(http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b29/madrat/SDC10567.jpg) (http://s16.photobucket.com/user/madrat/media/SDC10567.jpg.html)

Bottom is in quite good condition

(http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b29/madrat/SDC10574.jpg) (http://s16.photobucket.com/user/madrat/media/SDC10574.jpg.html)

But it will need a new hose, split is to far along to fix.  What colour should the Zorbster have?

(http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b29/madrat/SDC10575.jpg) (http://s16.photobucket.com/user/madrat/media/SDC10575.jpg.html)

Wand is in great condition, top cap and spring are there and the crevice tool holder is intact  ;)

Need to get hold of a hopper for the zorb now.

I've got a brand new hopper and floor tool for a DC04 Zorb if you want them. Every Zorb I've ever had, the clutch has been absolutely knackered! I always convert them back to a standard clutched DC04.

PM me if you want the hopper & floor tool.

Had a quick look at the clutch after reading on here they are prone to wearing.

No suction the add said, I'm not surprised  :boggleeye:

Yes clutch is shot

Will try a rebuild, not sure if white roler is fixed to rod though, long time since I rebuilt a clutch and never on a zorbster.

Nice,  looks like a diamond in the rough!

Was gonna say I did a clutch rebuild thread on here somewhere,  looks like your sorted though!

Maybe they heard the zorbster washes carpets or something...

We also have new hoppers at a tenner (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/Zorbster-DC04-hopper). We also have Zorb powder at happy money.

The floor tool looks like a DC05 head I think, but is lavender and grey (got none of those).

Nice! I agree with Beko, lol they thought it washes carpets! Haha
If I had that, the taped uo switch housing, ripped hose and the small belt which should be large would cheese me off already, they must be large lol. Looks like someone been there before.

Would you make a thread? Would be very cool! Thanks

Lol : D
PS f you were to message the seller regarding the wet a Dyson, we might find out if it is really water, or has sucked up a wet spill, then had water sucked up to clean it? Either way I am surprised the post filter got wet without blowing up the motor

I think he washed the filters because of the lack of suction and put them back in wet
