The handle on my X4 comes out of its housing when pulling back on the handle during normal operation. I think this is because the handle catch is worn.
A replacement handle catch seems readily available (altho' not at MV!). But it is not clear to me that the catch is easily removed. Has anyone tried to remove and replace?

The reason we dont sell them is 99.9% of the time that isn't the problem and it would cause us pain with daft low value returns.
Yes, we have that clip if you are certain that is all you need.
However, the usual cause of what you describe is normally when the surrounding plastic inside, by that clip, has cracked, it flexes during use, the crack opens, and the handle comes out during use. This is usually caused by either simple old age, the machine being carried by the top handle (rather than the carry slot in the cable rewind) over time or sometimes a fall.
In that case, the usual and most expedient fix is a replacement full back body which can simply be swapped by anyone without tools. We normally supply a good used one for £40 inc UK delivery (assuming blue), but can order in new ones too.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Will thoroughly inspect the machine over the weekend, to check it is not just the catch. Your 3rd paragraph is salutary.
Fully understand about low value returns.

salutary.
What an excellent word. The third paragraph, despite being unwelcome is not a terminological inexactitude. ;D

It appears the handle catch is slightly worn but not terminally.
Quick (temporary?) fix: wrap electrical tape once or twice round around the handle where the catch catches. So far, three months later, this seems to work well.
If or when this fails a refurbed box will be required. In the meantime, all users have been shown how to use the carry handle!!
