Title: DC56: How does one remove the motor cover?
Post by: lothian on March 15, 2024, 05:13:58 pm
Anyone have experience removing the DC56 motor cover?

While performing another thorough disassembly of my stalwart DC56 to clean its innards, it occurred to me that over the course of many, many years I have never cleaned the foam filters nestled under the motor cover. This fact now bothers me on a neural level.

I attempted to remove it in a manner identical to the DC57, but without luck. I get the bottom bit loose. But despite much pressing and prying I cannot determine the location of the internal clips that secure the DC56 motor cover in place.

Where are the secret pressure points?
