Title: Is there a easy method to replace a DC39 Power Switch?
Post by: Kerry78 on December 20, 2020, 07:37:05 pm
Hi All.

The Power switch looks like it could be needing replaced on my Dyson only matter of time before it breaks again such a shoddy switch on it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Last time it was under warranty and Dyson done it and also changed the motor at the same time back in 2018

This time around I just think the power button is in need of replacement as the machine needs 2x presses to get it going instead of just the one press

I’ve been quoted £75 - £100 to fix it by Dyson 🤦🏻‍♀️

The part is £5 ... so was just looking for a very very easy way if possible to try and sort it

Any methods guys?

Thanks  :biglaugh:

Bummer that’s not good 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t think I fancy completely tearing the whole thing down either just to get at the crappy switch  :'(

Looks like I will have to run it into the curb and get another one in the new year

Thanks I just think I will get one of the new CY28’s sometimes people forget to
Reg the warranty and can get them cheap on eBay it was the case for my DC39

It’s been a good vac the last 6 years it’s just a pain that it requires so much
Work to replace parts on it!

I hope the CY28 is easier to repair out of warranty anyway looks nothing to it lol 😝

Thanks I saw that but personally it looks a right gauntlet to do!

I will just use and abuse mine till I can get the newer CY28 animal or multi floor

Hopefully Dyson will reduce them later on! Or will just try looking for one that hasn’t had much of the warranty used Lol
