Title: Russian Ural (Урал) Vacuum Cleaner.
Post by: MVOlga on July 29, 2013, 11:58:48 pm
Did anyone ever see a typical Russian vacuum cleaner?

This is a Soviet era Ural machine. In Russian it is Урал. It is probably from the mid 1980's.

Inspiration for Henry you think?

This one is still in great working condition, but the hose and wand were badly worn and damaged. Parts are no longer easily available.

So we had the hose brought over to us so we could use the unique insert collar from it. We fixed that to one end of an old DC02 hose, and added the banana, extending pole and floor head from the DC02 to make it fully functional again.

Today, we sent the parts back to Russia together with a standard Dyson compatible three piece tool set.

The Урал will now be better than new.  :king:

Mr Dyson thought he was first with a hand held vacuum cleaner.

But Урал did it many years before.
