Much like a DC41, and there is strip down topics here on those.

Before you do, take the head off, put a meter on the two connectors from the machine, you are looking for circa 320v DC. Try and replicate the fault while watching the meter. That will tell you if it is the loom. It probably is, but that will tell you for sure before you strip it down.
Thank you very much

It sounds like the yoke loom.

(Attachment Link)

Take it apart and test that with a meter. They break inside.

Thanks. Is it hard to dissemble?

I've moved your post to an appropriate place.

For DC24s, look in >>this room<<.

Most likely the power cord has failed where it enters the handle.

Here's how to diagnose if it's just the flex at fault: plug it in and switch it on. Grasp the power cord a few inches from where it goes into the handle. Move it very gently and slowly up and down, side to side and maybe round in a circle. Try twisting it a little left and right. If the machine bursts into life, even for a moment while you are doing that, then it needs a replacement power cord. In this case, the cable has broken internally and a new one will fix it.

If that doesn't work, try doing the same a few inches back from the plug.  Very occasionally, they can fail where the wire goes into the plug.

You have to take off the head, and it is removed by some screws inside. There is a topic >>here<< that details a full strip down.

Hi all

I have a dc75 and the brushbar works fine if the angle is past a certain point. If I tilt it slightly too upright, the brushbar turns off. I can only presume either some switch or spring has come off.

Does anyone know how this could be fixed. Is there an angle switch or spring?

Thanks in advance
