I am wondering if you guys have had a chance to check out the sebo evolution.
By the looks of it its a single motor unit like the x series and G series.
I have mixd feelings about two of its features I have seen so far.
The easily replaceable brush strip, This is great from a maintenance and ownership point of view, Those brush strips are cheap and easy to replace.
That said if you have ever used a G series or x4 over a area that was vacuumed by a 360/370 or bs36 you will see the x4 leaves the carpet more groomed and lifts more dirt out , This is because of its double brushed brush bar. It has two rows of brushes on either side of the bar , the brush strip only has one that wraps around the brush bar. Basically in one revolution of the brush bar the carpet is only getting brushed once on a unit with the brush strip but twice with the g or x series.
The easily changeable cord, Idea great if the cord breaks you can easily change it on the move or just order a new one and fit it yourself.
Not so great is that when the machine does come in you have to sell the customer a £ 60.00 cord instead of just cutting a small piece ( they always break at the same point ) off and re fitting it or fitting a standard electrical cord.
Other than those points it looks interesting, Cant wait to try one

£60 for a cord :o

Thats a estimation, going on what I paid for a new x4 cord when a customer wanted a new one

X4 cords come with the handle so they are plug and play.
I haven't yet seen an Evolution. This is one.

Yes the x4 cord comes with the handle but thats just for people who dont know how to fix stuff, we open the handle up , two scres and either shorten the cord or replace it. 10 minute job

Well of course, we all do. ;D
But it's a good solution - at a price - for the non-technical person who wants an instant home fix.
