Well, I learnt something last night, and thought I would share...
I did my usual 70 degree, 3 hour hose and filters wash, and popped a DC03 filter in just to see what happened...

It melted a bit
The 'washable' part died too

All the filter media turned to cotton wool

And made a hell of a mess when I shook the towels off I put in with it

Was fun to vacuum up though, still need to finish it off, just got the worse up with the miele on minimum power at 11.20pm last night...

Btw I washed my black DC14 pad filer in last week, came out nice and white, but the wool part was separated from the other half

Yea, the filter pads don't always like it. I always replace them for the pennies they cost. Electrolux Dolphin filters come up well though

I always do pads on a 30 quick wash with extra rinse.
