Is there an easy way to determine which motor I have in the machine?

Thanks. My dc33 is totally knackered. So will have a try with the DC27 even if it quite tricky.

But there are many pattern parts out there that should be sufficient.

Have you thoroughly checked for blockages or replaced both sets of filters recently?
If you have, and the problem still persists, the thermal cut out on your motor may be faulty.
Over here in the U.K they are very common and itís worthwhile removing the motor and replacing the cut out as they are still popular machines. Iím not sure about availability in the US, however

Hi. A lot of us are based in the U.K here and that doesnít look like a machine we had over here. What model is it? DC17 or DC28 maybe?
As I know we wonít have any parts over here I canít say for certain if you will still be able to source the spares. Both of those models must be over 10 years old now. Dyson will usually only supply parts for up to ten years.
Do you have a vacuum store anywhere nearby? It might be worth asking them if theyíve got any spares in stock or if they know of any source

The DC27 is a much more complex machine to work on and certain parts unique to the dc27 are getting scarce now.
But the DC27 chassis & wand are more robust than the 33 so youíll probably not have to worry about those breaking whereas they can do on the 33.
Swings and roundabouts really. Unless your dc33 is totally knackered itís probably not worth the swap

Dyson DC07 / Panasonic vs. YDK motors

I have a DC07 upright that I think I need to replace the motor on. How do you tell if you need the Panasonic or the YDK motor without taking the entire unit apart? The symptom that I am having is that it cuts off after about 5-10 minutes of use and will start back up once it's "cooled off" There is no smell of overheating just the stopping of the motor. Is this a motor issue and which motor would I order? I am in the US.

I'm looking to replace my DC33 with a DC27. Is the DC27 a better machine then the DC33?

Cylinder & Canister Dysons / Re: DC05 "Vacuum Extension Tube Release Catch"

Found this link in a search result and wondered if anyone knows if I can still get hold of this catch anywhere?

You'll only find used ones now.

That would be fine, any idea where ?

Second Generation "The Ball" Dysons. / Dyson UP22 Light Ball Multifloor: Tool Holder?
« Last post by macman on November 25, 2021, 08:46:52 PM »
Trying to find a tool holder for one of these and they seem to be rarer than hen's teeth (or maybe rarer than petrol/Walkers crisps etc)? It's the little one that slides onto the base of the spine, bottom left, on these. Dyson part no. 968650-01. One of these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124079881683
(sorry to advertise the competition, but the main Dyson site is down).
They seem to be o/s absolutely everywhere (I've already checked with Claire), including Dyson themselves. Maybe there's a market for someone to digitally print a few hundred of these...
Does anyone have one they could sell to me please (used is absolutely fine)? Thank you.
